Arsenal suffered their third successive defeat in the Premier League on Sunday, going down 1-0 to Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side played the final half an hour of the match with 10 men after Granit Xhaka saw his yellow card for an altercation with Ashley Westwood upgraded to a red by VAR.
Burnley made the most of their man advantage shortly after, taking the lead when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed Westwood’s cross into his own net.
The Gunners came close to snatching a draw at the death, with Rob Holding’s header cleared off the line by Josh Brownhill in stoppage time.
The defeat leaves Arsenal languishing in 15th in the Premier League table, having not won a game since November 1. Burnley, meanwhile, move four points behind the Gunners in 17th.
