Ansu Fati Renews Barcelona Contract Until 2027
Barcelona fans can breathe easy with the news that could be one of the most important things the club does all year: Ansu Fati has signed a new deal that ties him to the club until 2027.
The teenage forward, Barcelona’s new No.10 in the post-Lionel Messi era, has made a successful return from a serious injury and at the weekend showed he is back. Today, he has also shown he is here to stay.
Ansu Fati’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season, although the club did have an option to extend that by two years. However, much like in Pedri’s case, the club were keen to get the player to commit to a new, longer-term deal with improved terms to reflect his new-found importance to the first team. That was especially important as the two-year option had been questioned and disputed in some quarters.

The Spanish international has been breaking records since making his debut under Ernesto Valverde. Ansu Fati is Barcelona’s youngest Champions League debutant, Camp Nou starter and LaLiga Santander scorer. Although still only 18 years old, Ansu Fati is not a prospect, he is already a vital part of Ronald Koeman’s team and Barcelona’s future.
Emphasising that, again just like Pedri, Ansu Fati will have a one billion euro release clause in his new contract. More of a statement than an evaluation, but still a big one.
Personality
Ansu Fati’s future at the Camp Nou was never really in doubt. It’s where he wants to be. As shown by taking Messi’s shirt, he wants to keep making history with Barcelona.
His renewal also underlines the new board’s commitment to rejuvenating the squad and rebuild it around its young stars.
