Air Strikes Target Iran-backed Terrorists On Syria-Iraq Border
Iranian-backed terrorists were targeted in air strikes on the Syria-Iraq border Monday night.
At least three military positions of the terrorists in Al Bukamal district in Deir ez-Zor province came under attack, according to information compiled by Anadolu Agency from local sources.
The strikes were carried out by unmanned combat aerial vehicles whose ownership remains unknown.
Deir ez-Zor, on the Iraqi-Syrian border, is a strategic location that has land routes from Iran to Lebanon and trade routes and oil pipelines.
It was captured by forces of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime following the withdrawal of the Daesh/ISIS terror group in 2017.
Since then, Iranian-backed terrorist groups have been intensively stationed in Deir ez-Zor.
