Adamu Commends Tulip Int’l College For Winning Medals At Int’l Competition

The Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has commended the students of Nigerian Tulip International College, NTIC, for winning 48 medals at various International competitions within a year.

The Minister made the commendation when the management and students of the College paid him a courtesy visit in his office to present the laurels and plaques they won in the International Competitions for 2016/2017 academic year, on Monday, May 8, 2017. Mallam Adamu applauded the school management for being trailblazers in provision of quality and affordable education and health services in the country.

He also congratulated the students for their outstanding academic performances, noting that the feat had rated the Nigerian education system high among the comity of nations.

The Minister said that government will continue to provide the enabling environment for individual and corporate organizations to be involved in provision of education services. Speaking earlier, the Principal of Tulip International College, Mr. Muazu Omeji said that the aim of their visit is to show the performance of the students and seek closer collaboration with the Ministry, especially its parastatals like National Mathematical Centre.

He added that the core mandate of the school was to groom the students to greatness especially in character modification.

This is even as he said that the school is not meant for the rich alone, but for Nigerians of all classes, offering scholarships to indigent ones.

Omeji further stated that the school has branches in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Yobe, and Kaduna. He therefore thanked the Federal Government for creating an enabling environment for the school to operate.

The Vice Principal, Mr. Bob Odey Ushie, listed the competitions to include GISUTECH-2016, an International Robotics and Technology Competition held in Uganda. The students won 3 Gold Medals and 1 silver medal; International Math Challenge, IMC, VI-2017 held in Thailand.

The students won 5 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals and 3 Bronze medals; World Scholar’s Cup- 2017, held in Dubai, Essay writing competition, were they won 1 Gold medal and 3 Silver medals; International Young Investors Project Olympiad, IYIPO-2016, Georgia – 1 Silver medal; International Festival of Language & Culture, IFLC-2016, Turkey- 6 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and 4 Bronze medals; International Geometry Olympiad, IGO-2016, Iran -1 Silver medal and 3 Bronze medals. Others were; Genius Olympiad, an international high school project competition about environmental issues, GENIUS-2016, held in USA, 2 Bronze medals; International Environmental Project Olympiad, GOLDEN CLIMATE, 2016, Kenya, 2 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals; Malaysian International Young Olympiad, MIYIO, 2017, Malaysia- 2 Bronze medals; Pan African Mathematics Olympiad, PAMO- 2016, Senegal- 1 Bronze medal; International Informatics Project Competition, Infomatrix-2016, Romania-2 Bronze medals.
