A Lagos-based pro-workers organization, Labour & Workers Welfare Advocacy Centre has finalised arrangements to organize a two-pronged events for the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), to thank God for blessing the country with a brand like the 60 years old Senior Advocate and celebrate the legal Icon and political role model for making the citizenry proud.

Convener of the Centre, Comrade Omobanke Razak, speaking at a brief private gathering with newsmen Sunday, confirmed that, though the programs had been in the pipeline for long, Fashola’s interview on Channels Television last week Sunday rekindled the urge to appreciate him so he would not have the feelings that all his efforts for the country are not noticed.

The activist was referring to the minister featuring on the popular TV programme, Politics on Sunday of the Channels Television where he put all viewers at the edge of their chairs as he analysed the political situation in the country with the ease that fish swims in the ocean!

With the latest outing of the Minister on air, the Centre boss reasoned there should be a cause to organize a thanksgiving outing for him to thank the Almighty God for blessing Nigeria with Fashola and also to organize a symposium where people would come round to talk of the unique brand-Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF), so he would know that the populace appreciates all his efforts at adding values to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and by extension, to the living standard of the people of Nigeria via world class infrastructure.

According to Omobanke, the way the minister and former governor of Lagos State handled the question on how the opposition themselves out of their electoral ignorance and political naivety packaged the February 25 presidential poll victory and delivered it to the candidate of the App Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, must have left the losers bewildered by now, submitting that, “with Fashola at the helms of any local, national or international affairs, the country can go to sleep with closed eyes.

Going by the mandate of the organization that is premised around the welfare of the workers and the Labour Force, one would appreciate why the group leader is so passionate about Fashola and his performance.

“The two ministries under his supervision have direct connection with our Centre because of job opportunities and employment possibilities,” Omobanke disclosed, expressing the delight that, “the Minister and his offices never disappoint us in making provision for the needful.”

In conclusion, the Centre tentatively fixes the proposed programmes for mid-May before the official inauguration of the in-coming administration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
