#NigeriaElection2023: Toke Benson-Awoyinka Casts Her Vote In Ogba

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Housing, Barr. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, in the early hours of today, cast her vote in Ogba, Lagos

She exercised her franchise at Adekunle Vill./Adeniyi Jones/Ogba 022, in Ward F, Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Speaking after performing her civic duty, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Chieftain expressed optimism of her party’s victory at the polls.

“We are here today to perform our civic duty, we have done that, no doubt about it, we would win this election because it’s our turn,” Benson-Awoyinka said.

She said that despite some initial challenges experienced at her Polling Unit like the change in the usual location for voting, the All Progressives Congress, APC members will come out en-masse to exercise their civic duties.

She said “We were brought from our initial location for voting to another location about a mile. Originally, we do vote at Ogba by AY Hotel but now we were brought to Ifako-Ijaiye, in front of Area G Police Station which is a bit confusing and might likely disenfranchise our people.

“To avoid apathy on the part of the electorates, we mobilized our people to go to the former location to bring voters who are still waiting there to this new location,” she said.”

Speaking on the performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

She added: “The BVAS machine is rather slow at this polling unit, it doesn’t work with the fingerprint and this made the INEC officials to explore the option of facial capturing which made the entire voting process slow.”

“I’m a bit disappointed with the performance of INEC in respect to this my Polling Unit, overall, I won’t rate them 50 per cent because I have to wait on queue for almost two hours in an area that does not have more than two hundred voters. It’s a bit challenging for us.”
