The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Ending Explained and Post-credits Details

The final episode of ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ has been released on Disney Plus, with the episode titled ‘One World, One People’ concluding the six-part mini series. The show received rave reviews and was loved by fans, although some have questions following the final episode and the post-credits scene.

Here, we take a look at what the ending of the show means and at what the post-credits scene tells us about Marvel’s future projects.

How does ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ end?

The sixth and final episode starts with Sam Wilson accepting the Captain America shield. He and his team fly to New York to deal with the Flag Smashers’ latest attack. Those that aren’t killed are sent to the high-security prison called the Raft, although they are also taken out on route.

Later, John Walker – who has been discharged from the military – dyes his Captain America costume black and starts working for Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine, taking on a new code name of US agent. He is told to get ready for when things turn “weird”, which is a suggestion that there could be another series. If there is, it wouldn’t be expected until around the middle of 2022.

Meanwhile, Sharon Carter is confirmed to have been the Power Broker all along.

What happens in the post-credits scene of ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’?

After Sharon Carter confirms her identity as the Power Broker in the series finale, in the post-credits scene she receives a pardon from the Global Repatriation Council thanks to her family’s legacy.

Afterwards, she then makes a phone call to an unknown character and says she will have access to government secrets.

What this means is that she will likely be a major villain in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films and series.
