Bayern Munich One Foot In Champions League Quater-final After Brush Lazio At Home

Bayern Munich have one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a 4-1 win over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

A dreadful mistake from Mateo Musacchio allowed Robert Lewandowski to open the scoring after nine minutes. The Polish international is now the outright third highest scorer in Champions League history.

Further goals from Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane saw the defending champions go into the break with a hugely commanding lead.

Francesco Acerbi’s own goal made matters even worse for the hosts at the start of the second half, while Joaquin Correa’s netted what is surely a consolation goal.

Hansi Flick’s Bayern may be stuttering in the Bundesliga, but they’ll fully expect to progress to the last eight when the second leg is held in Munich.
