Edo Govt Charges Workers On Diligence, Hard Work

The Edo State Government has charged workers in the state to be diligent and committed in discharging their duties with a view to ensuring the successful implementation of government’s policies and programmes aimed at bettering the lives of Edo people.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Minerals, Oil and Gas, Barr. Sam Oko-Ose gave the charge during a send-off ceremony held in his honor, in Benin City, the state capital.

Oko-Ose advised the government employees to have a diligent and hardworking disposition towards work as there is always a reward for hard work.

He explained that even if reward does not come immediately, it would come in due time, adding that the Civil Service profession is critical to the realization of government plans and programmes.

The outgoing Permanent Secretary thanked the members of staff who have worked with him for their support and cooperation during his tenure, praying that God grants them the wisdom and strength to move the ministry forward and contribute to the development of the state.

In his response, the Director of Administration, Mr. Binanu Usman celebrated the achievements of the outgoing Permanent Secretary in his 35 years of service, noting that he will be greatly missed by all members of staff.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to the outgoing Permanent Secretary by members of staff.
