Judge Grants Permission To Investigate Maradona’s Mobile Phones
In order to get a view of Diego Armando Maradona’s passing, judges in Argentina have given permission to access the phones of the former footballer as part of the investigation.
The primary motive of the measure is to see his messages and calls with Leopoldo Luque, the doctor and suspect of being responsible for his passing, and Agustina Cosachov, his psychiatrist.
Maradona had two mobile phones, one for his intimate circle and another for his wider circle of friends.
Initially, the request had been rejected as a sign of respect, but that decision has now been overturned.
The date for the investigation has not been determined.
The first witness, Griselda Vanesa Morel, was a carer for Maradona, will give testimony on Wednesday, with Romina Milagros Rodriguez, who was present at the time of his death, and a third witness.
