Sarri Appointed Lazio Head Coach

Lazio have confirmed the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as their new head coach.

The former Chelsea boss replaces Simone Inzaghi in the dugout, who departed for Inter in May.

“SS Lazio announce that Maurizio Sarri is the new coach of the first team,” was the short message posted on the club’s website.

Sarri takes over Inzaghi who had been with Lazio for the last five seasons. With Antonio Conte leaving Inter, Inzaghi was tempted into taking over the Serie A champions.

Lazio will be in next season’s Europa League after finishing sixth in Italy, a competition which Sarri won as head coach of Chelsea in 2019
