Whilst the focus is entirely on Zinedine Zidane’s team reaching the semi-final of the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo made history of his own on Tuesday as he became Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Goals have characterised the 31-year-old’s career in the Spanish capital ever since his arrival from Manchester United in 2009 with the latest being a superb header past Manuel Neuer before a left-footed volley and late tap-in.

Bagging a hat-trick on the night, it also put Ronaldo onto 100 Champions League goals, the first player to reach the milestone.
