Prison Without Bail For Barcelona’s Former President Sandro Rosell
The judge of the National Court, Carmen Lamela, has requested the imprisonment, without bail, for the former president of Barcelona, detained for an alleged money laundering of 15 million euros.
Considering that there is risk of escape, destruction of criminal evidence and reiteration, the prosecutor has also ordered the entry into the jail for the lawyer and Andorran politician Joan Besoli, who is attributed the creation of companies with which money was laundered.
The judge of the National Audience accused Rosell for being part of a criminal organisation which “was dedicated to laundering money coming from illicit commissions” of the image rights of Brazil’s national team.
The 53-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, in a joint operation between the Civil Guard and the National Police, with the accusation of washing payments, obtained by business agreements with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), through companies established in tax havens.
