Record-breaking Real Madrid

Spread the love

Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid know very well what it is like to make history, and while there is still a lot left to play for, Los Blancos have already broken record after record ever since the French coach’s arrival.

Here are some records they haven’t broken yet, but are well within reach:

60 consecutive matches with at least one goal

Zidane’s Real Madrid and goals are practically synonymous by this point – in 82 matches under the Frenchman, in only three games have Real failed to score.

Not since last season’s Manchester City semif have Zidane’s men failed to score, and with a goal on Wednesday against Atletico, they could match Bayern Munich’s record of 61 under Jupp Heynckes and Pep Guardiola.

First team to win all their UCL knock-out matches

It is five wins in five matches in the knock-out stages of the Champions League, and while five other teams have reached the same scenario, none were able to make it six wins out of six before the final.

Real Madrid want to be the first.

76 goals away from home

Averaging 3.04 goals per away match, Real Madrid have broken Barcelona’s 2014/15 record of 75. Madrid’s previous record was 68 goals back in 2011/12, which was on average 2.38 goals per match.

15 Champions League matches without a loss

Not since April 6, 2016 have Real lost a Champions League match, which came against Wolfsburg (2-0).

Since then it has been 11 victories and four draws, as Zidane’s side really found their footing under his stewardship.
