Neymar Will Be Out For A Month After Injured Against Caen

Neymar is set to be out for a month after suffering a grade II tear in the adductor muscle in his left leg during Paris Saint-Germain’s Coupe de France tie against Caen on Wednesday night.

As such, the 29-year-old’s bad luck in the knockout rounds of the Champions League continues, as he will miss the first leg of PSG’s last-16 tie against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on February 16.

That is not all, though, as it might be difficult for Neymar to feature in the second leg back in Paris on March 10. His participation in this match will be dependent on how he recovers.

Mauricio Pochettino is therefore without two of his star players for the trip to face Barcelona, with Neymar joining Angel Di Maria on the treatment table.

“He left with adductor discomfort and we will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it is an injury or not,” Pochettino said after the win against Caen.

“We won’t know for sure until tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s just a minor thing. Right now we don’t know if it’s nothing… or if he’ll be out for several weeks.”

PSG’s worst omens have come true.
