WHO Says Friday, December 11 Was The Deadliest Day Of The COVID-19 Pandemic So Far

Friday, December 11, 2020, was the worst day of the coronavirus pandemic to date.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), there were over 13,000 deaths from COVID-19 and 692,000 new cases detected on Friday – the highest recorded figures so far for each category.

The total death toll from COVID-19 around the world is now 1.58 million, while a total of 69.5 million cases have been recorded.

The Americas recorded 328,000 new cases on Friday, bringing their total up to 29.7 million. Europe recorded another 273,000 cases on Friday to reach a total of 21.4 million.
