Three months on from the passing of Diego Armando Maradona and, while the Argentine justice system continues its investigations into the circumstances, the eternal No.10’s daughters have spoken of how they heard about their father’s death.

The testimonies of Dalma, Gianinna and Jana have been revealed on television.

Dalma revealed that Gianinna called her to say that they were attempting to revive their father.

Dalma then informed her mother and went to get her, when Gianinna called again.

“On the way, my sister called again to ask where we were,” said Dalma.

Gianinna, meanwhile, first heard the bad news from a psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov.

“[She] told me my father didn’t have a pulse, that they were trying to revive him,” said Gianinna.

“I arrived at my father’s place around 13:00, there were ambulances everywhere.

“The doctor came to tell me there was nothing they could do… I insisted but he said they’d been trying for an hour.”

Jana, Diego’s youngest daughter, heard through a friend and the radio.

“On the way a friend wrote and said ‘I’m here for whatever you need’ but I didn’t give it much thought,” said Jana.

“I got another message of condolence but again I decided not to believe it.

“Then half a block before arriving they announced it on the radio.”
