…She flaunts my order

An okada driver, Raimi Onala has told Oja Oba/Mapo Court C Customary Court, Ibadan, Oyo State,  he is no longer interested in his union with his wife, Idowu Onala, a trader.

Raimi told the court that his wife is troublesome, quarrelsome and had no regard and respect for him.

According to him, he had known no peace since they got married seven years ago due to his wife’s constant nagging and fighting habit.

He, therefore, sought for the dissolution of their marriage in order to put his life in shape again and live in peace.

“I do everything within my power to make my wife and children happy. I ensure they are well fed, clothed and look presentable, but my wife never appreciates these. I even care for the children she had for her first husband, but she counts this as nothing.

“Rather than show gratitude by making our home a conducive place to live in, all she does is nag, complain and fight me.

“She has no regard for me. If I give any order she flaunts it and talks to me with disrespect.

“I no more have any worth before our neighbours because of my wife’s attitude towards me. She treats me with disdain. Our neighbours have now turned me into a laughing stock.

“I can’t tell when last we made love.  She has signed off s*x. Anytime I initiate love making she snubs me. When we are in bed she makes herself stiff or pushes me off and leaves me to burn.

“She constantly fights me and our neighbours. We have moved houses up to five times because of her quarrelsome nature.

“I’m no more in love with her. I want her out of my life, “he stated.

“I am also ready to divorce him, “the defendant stated.

“I’ve had enough of a man who is a liability, but calls himself the head of the home.

“He  lied to me when we met that he was gainfully employed, I got to know he is jobless after we got married.

“He doesn’t have money to feed the family, but he has money to buy cigarette. He smokes like a chimney  and pollutes the whole place with the smell of his cigarette.

“I took him to my pastor for prayers and he  got a job. He was later sacked because of misconduct.

“He’s also a womaniser and runs after everything in skirt.

“I constantly refuse him s*x because I don’t want him to infect me with STD in case he has it.

The court president, Chief Ademola Odunade, after listening to the duo ruled that their marriage be dissolved.

He ordered the plaintiff to give N4, 000 monthly as the child’s feeding allowance and rent a room for the defendant for a period of one year at the rate of N12, 000.

He was also ordered to be responsible for the child’s education and health care.
