The latest instalment of the James Bond series will be released on the big screen in 2021, and to build anticipation for the upcoming release, a new trailer has been released for the movie entitled ‘No time to Die’.

Daniel Craig is set to make his final appearance as the famous British spy after a fantastic run since 2007 and Casino Royale.

When is the new film set to be released?

The original release date of the film was supposed to be on April 2, 2020 but COVID complications have delayed the released, which is now officially set to take place on September 30.

There is, however, an exclusive premiere in London that will take place on September 28, with a select group of fans able to see the picture earlier than most.

What is the plot?

In ‘No time to Die’ James Bond has left active duty behind and is enjoying a rather peaceful retirement in Jamaica, although as can be predicted, this doesn’t last long.

A mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist requires 007’s expertise and experience, although it rapidly turns into something more perilous, as highlighted in the trailer released on Tuesday.

The runtime of the film is 163 minutes and it marks the fifth film that Craig has acted as Bond since he took the role.

What were the implications of the delay?

Whilst it’s difficult for people to feel sympathy for multi-million-dollar companies, the impact of the delay of the James Bond film has been quite significant.

MGM has lost a lot of box office money, and every month that progressed, they owe an extra one million dollars on top of the loan they received from the bank to finance the film.

If the film, as is now expected, is released in September then the cost of the film would have risen by more than 17 million dollars to MGM due to the interest payments.
