Kroos Reveals What He Said To Cristiano Ronaldo

In the moments following Portugal’s 4-2 defeat to Germany in Euro 2020, Cristiano Ronaldo was pictured deep in conversation with Toni Kroos. The German midfielder has since admitted that he asked Ronaldo how he was doing in Italy.

The pair were teammates at Real Madrid during the club’s golden era in modern times and it was somewhat fitting that, in the week Sergio Ramos departed the club he had captained so well for years, two of his former lieutenants were seen speaking.

“I played with him for four seasons,” Kroos told the Einfach mal Luppen podcast.

“We were neighbours in the dressing room so of course I was glad to see him again.

“We spoke briefly about the game, of course, but also about the matches that are to come. I wished him the best of luck and asked him how he was doing in Italy.”

Kroos also spoke with another former club teammate in Pepe, with whom he played for three seasons in the Spanish capital.

“Pepe is also an outstanding guy who sometimes seems very wild on the pitch,” he added.

“He doesn’t seem so nice on it, but he is totally nice off the pitch.

“It’s exactly the same with Cristiano Ronaldo.”
