Kane Ends England Drought In Win Over Albania

Harry Kane scored his first international goal in almost 18 months during England’s 2-0 win over Albania in Tirana.

The Tottenham striker hadn’t netted for the Three Lions since their 4-0 victory over Kosovo in November 2019 – a six-game drought.

England’s opener came from Luke Shaw’s cross, which Kane headed inside the far post. The forward also hit the crossbar from Raheem Sterling’s cross moments later.

Mason Mount provided the visitors’ second goal, tucking the ball past Etrit Berisha after being played through by Kane.

Gareth Southgate’s side have now won their first two qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and top their group going into Wednesday’s meeting with Poland at Wembley.
