The new Angelina Jolie movie ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ tells the story of Hannah, a smokejumper who encounters a young traumatised boy called Connor who was on the run in the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana.

Hannah, played by Jolie, suffers a mental health crisis from PTSD developed on her job after three youngsters lost their lives in a forest fire she couldn’t prevent.

Her second chance to save someone presents itself as Connor is need of help to escape from two ruthless assassins, Jack and Patrick Blackwell.

The Blackwells had ambushed and killed Connor’s father Owen Casserly, who provided the kid with evidence against the two men’s employer and mob boss Arthur Phillip.

After Hannah checked the note Owen gave to his son, she urged Connor to go on a run with her rather than spending the night in the watchtower.

The big question in ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’: Why was the note so important?

After, learning about the death of his boss and his family in a gas explosion, Owen, who was a forensic accountant, sought refuge with his brother-in-law and Deputy Sheriff, Ethan Sawyer, who was also Hannah’s ex-boyfriend.

Owen realised that his boss was actually murdered by the Blackwells, who ambushed him and Connor and forced them down a cliff with the car.

The explanation of who could be behind these murders could have come with the appearance of Arthur, who blames the Blackwells for failing to kill the boy too.

Arthur avoids being seen near the Blackwells’ car and he has Jack be dropped off in a parking lot and walk towards where he was to have a chat.

This suggests that Arthur could be an important figure, perhaps a politician or rather someone close to a politician, who would do anything possible to avoid this evidence to be traced back.
