Despite Hornets’ loss, LaMelo Ball Got A Fresh Triple-double
LaMelo Ball has been delivering riveting performances for the Charlotte Hornets over the last few months this season. Tonight, he wasn’t able to prevent his team from taking a new defeat against the Atlanta Hawks but he sure did put on another show in front of Michael Jordan’s eyes. MJ has been trying to remain close to the players durnig this difficult season in which only a handful of Hornets players are delivering good results. There’s a fun image of him yelling at one of them from courtside that reminds everyone of the days when Mike was still competing. The plan is to get this team filled with young talent to become one of the driving forces in the NBA.
LaMelo Ball is at the very center of this project Michael Jordan has in mind, he is the full package of a player. Not only does he play spectacular basketball as a point guard but he also excells in defense and he even has the occassional dunk. Tonight, he got the third triple-double of his professional career against the Hawks. It was a discrete night for Charlotte but LaMelo still got 15 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. This contribution wasn’t enough for the Hornets to prevent a new defeat that leaves them with a 10-8 record. Regardless of this heartbreak, Ball still managed to keep making NBA history.
LaMelo Ball now has 3️⃣ triple-doubles, tied for 4th most in NBA history at age 20 or younger.
The only players with more are Luka Dončić (21), Magic Johnson (7) and LeBron James (5).

LaMelo keeps climbing as a rookie.
With his third triple-double on his second season, LaMelo Ball ties ar fourth place in the all-time list of players with more of these at age 20 or younger. Above him is LeBron with 5, Magic Johnson with 7 and the anomaly Luka Doncic with 21 triple-doubles. Although getting to Doncic seems impossible before turning 21 in August next year, nobody doubts LaMelo Ball will try to get the 18 he needs in order to tie Luka’s all-time record. His team might not get victories easy right now but Ball at least understands he needs to put on a show for the fans every time he steps on the court. LaMelo is the ultimate entertainer.
