Benzema Is Close To Being Like Raul, Says Karembeu
Christian Karembeu has compared Karim Benzema to Raul, explaining that the French striker can match the Spaniard’s legendary status at Real Madrid.
Raul is the club’s second top scorer of all time with 323 goals, while Benzema is currently fifth on the list on 274.
“He is a very complete player, who can play on the right or the left,” Karembeu said of Benzema on Radio MARCA.
“He has shown his talent by scoring goals and he is close to being like Raul, although he would need to do more seasons.
“I think he’s doing very well at Real Madrid.
“He needs to stay focused because he can increase his Champions League scoring records.
“We have many successful players who have come out of France and he is one of them, feeling supported by a coach like Zinedine Zidane as he gives him confidence.”
