Chelsea Beat Everton, Hit 50 Points For The Season

A Ben Godfrey own goal in the first half coupled with a Jorginho penalty after the break were enough for Chelsea to grab a 2-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea opened the scoring just after the half an hour mark, when Godfrey netted an unlucky to put Thomas Tuchel’s side ahead.
Marcos Alonso wasted a couple of chances to double Chelsea’s lead, before a Kai Havertz goal was disallowed for handball in the build-up.
The Blues finally got their second when Jordan Pickford gave away a penalty, which was duly converted by Jorginho who sent the England international the wrong way.
Everton hardly created any clear chances and if anything, it was Chelsea who could have scored a third had Pickford not denied Timo Werner twice and N’Golo Kante on another occasion.
Chelsea remain fourth in the Premier League table with 50 points, followed by Everton who are four points behind, but have one game in hand.
