The Netherlands warmed up for the start of Euro 2020 by easing to a 3-0 victory over Georgia on Sunday.

Memphis Depay put in a Man of the Match display with a goal and an assist either side of a Wout Weghorst strike at the De Grolsch Veste Stadium.

Depay, the Barcelona target was joined by excellent displays from Frankie de Jong and Giorginio Wijnaldum, as his move to Paris Saint-Germain edged closer.

The Netherlands were ahead after 10 minutes, after a challenge on Denzel Dumfries was awarded as a penalty. Depay stepped up to slot home and give his side the lead.

Their advantage was almost doubled after De Jong and Depay went close, but the teams went into the break at 1-0.

Ten minutes after half time, the score was 2-0. A poor throw-in from Georgia was pounced upon by Wegorst, who finished coolly to put his side two in front.

With a quarter of an hour remaining, the result was secured. A fierce strike from Depay was parried by Giorgi Loria, with Ryan Gravenberch on hand to tap home.

This result will give the Netherlands a much-needed confidence boost after their draw against Scotland last time out, as they prepare to face the Ukraine in their first group stage match of the European Championship on Sunday, June 13.
