Gazali Akewudola aka native doctor 60 years; Alfa Taofeek 35 years; and Kazeem Sanni 25 years; are members of a gang who specialize in using people for rituals and selling human parts. Nemesis have however caught up with them and they are now cooling their heels in the cells of the Special- Anti Robbery Squad of Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja.
When thegazellenews.com spoke with the suspects, one of them, Gwasali explained that he is into rituals because he wants to make money for his children and relatives.
“I cannot use my children to do ritual because the money I wanted to make is for their well being and good life even when I pass on. Also, using my relations might expose me easily as because if my family members started disappearing one after the other without trace,  then people including other family members will start to suspect,” he said.
Explaining his role further in the profession on Wednesday to thegazellenews.com, Gazali, who is a native of Folahan village, Adoodo Road, Owode, Yewa, Ogun State said:
” I am an Islamic teacher and a clergy and I own an Islamic school in Owode Yewa. I am also married with eight lovely children.
“I am also a native doctor. I cure people of ailments and help those who want to become rich quick to become rich by using human parts to prepare charms and concoctions for them”.
He said most of the human parts he bought were sold to him by Kazeem.
“He used to sell one head, N3,000 depending on the market price and  sometimes he sell at N8,000 per head. The soft bones that can easily be grinded into powder are very cheap so,I can pay any small amount to carry the pieces of bones. Sometimes I pay N1,000,” he confessed.
On why he decided to be buying full or complete human being for N30,000 or N40,000, he noted that It is cheaper, especially live human.
“You get a lot of parts especially costly parts from it and it is more powerful because the efficacy of the charm or concoction you prepared with live part cannot be compared with the ones you prepared with dead parts.
“For instance, the full life human being will give you blood when you kill him which you can use to prepare some medicine or charm. The same body will give you hairs from private parts, head and some beards or mustache. You can also cut out private parts. Each part of human being is useful. Even the meat and intestine, liver, heart, eyes, lips, tongues can be used for pepper soup.
If you buy full human being for N30,000 or N40,000 and slice him into pieces, you can end up getting N100,000 or more because you get more than ten parts and therefore can yield good money,” he said.
Amazingly, Gazali confessed that he eats human meat because it tastes so good and better than animal meat.
“Human meats tastes so good especially when taken with hot drink, wine or beer but the most essence of eating it is to assure those who patronize me that it is eatable and sweet especially for spiritual and physical benefits. It can cure serious illness and can make one get rich quick,” he said.
Speaking on the issue the spokesperson of the command DSP Ngozi Braide said at about 8pm on 15th May, 2013 , based on information received by O/C SARS, SP Abba Kyari, one Jamiu Adeleke aged 40 was arrested by SARS operatives in Owode town, Ogun State with a human hand which he was trying to sell for N21,000 and he confessed that one Sanni Kazeem sold it for N6,000 for him.
“When Sanni was arrested he also confessed and further stated that he had supplied two human heads to a dealer named, Akinwowo Fatai aged 30 whom we equally arrested.
“Akinwowo confessed receiving the two human heads and four heads from another supplier, one Agboola Kolawole aged 40, who we later arrested in the same Owode town. Agboola confessed that he cuts the heads of his two late brothers and two sisters buried in private graves in their compound and sold it for N8,000 each.
“We finally arrested the final buyer/receiver, Ibe Ajibade Rafiu aka Dudu, a herbalist aged 30, who they all supplied parts to,” Braide said.
The police spokesperson continued further that, “The detectives recovered a drink of grinded human head mixed with gin in a bottle from Ajibade Rafiu’s house. The suppliers get their human parts from various grave yards in Ogun State and sell human heads for N8,000; hands, N6,000; private parts, N10,000; while the middlemen in the illicit business doubled the prices and sell to the herbalists who are the final receiver and end user.
Suspect Sanni also confessed that two popular Alhajis in the same Owode town had bought one head from him before and they have also requested for a live human being for N40,000 and Sanni confessed that it was the live human being that he was looking for before SARS detectives arrested him.
Suspect Adeleke also led SARS detectives to arrest some of his buyers one Funsho Alabi and others in Owode Egbado and, in the process, he attempted to escape by jumping down from a moving vehicle where he sustained injuries all over his body and head. He was immediately rushed to General Hospital for treatment but he later died”.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Umar Manko ordered SP Abba Kyari to fish out those suspects that are still at large.
Kyari then mobilized his efficient trackers led by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Adegbehin Adetarami to do the job and their efforts yielded dividend as two of the suspects at large were arrested.
The arrestede suspects are: Gazali Akewudola, 60; and Alfa Taofeek, 35.
Alfa Taofeek claimed to be a native of Owode Yewa in Ogun State.
“I am an Islamic cleric. I bought human heads only. I grind it and mixed it with hot gin and drink it myself to enable me become rich. I have been making people rich and, at a point I became jealous and decided to make myself rich since I did not get something reasonable from those I made rich. I bought only one head from Kazeem at N6,000.
“After drinking the mixed gin, it worked for me because I got more customers and I collected reasonable money, big money from my clients. My pocket is always full of money no matter how I spent money. I even hold parties every month to celebrate my success. I have Islamic students whom I used some of the money I realized from my ritual practice to fund or sponsor their graduation ceremony in my mini- Islamic school which I run. The school is named Alfa Taofeek Islamic School based in Owode Yewa. I beg for forgiveness from God and man,” he said.
Kazeem Sanni, 25 years, claimed to be  a rice smuggler based at Idi-Iroko Ogun State.
“I am from Oke-Odo in Owode Yewa South, Ogun State.
“I started dealing in human parts because my business was not moving well. I was not making reasonable profit. At times, Customs personnel at the border would seize all my smuggled goods. At times, I would not get enough money to go for another business trip.
“So, I started looking for solution to my financial problem. I had initially wanted to sell my father’s land but I could not get a buyer.
“I then decided to go to a native doctor to reveal how to make money quickly to me. The first native doctor I consulted was Alfa Taofeek Akinlola. I asked him what I would do to make me rich. He requested for a head of human being. I first attempted to kidnap somebody to slaughter and get his head but it was too difficult for me to do.
“I then went back to the Alfa and told him that I found it difficult to get human head. He advised me to go to burial ground and get human head.
When I went to burial ground I went for shallow graves and removed three heads. When I took the three heads to him he was very happy. He used one for my charm and bought the rest N3,000 each. The following day I brought one more head for him and  he paid me N8,000 because of the extra effort I made to get it on time.
It was the full live body of a human being that  Gazali requested me to bring to him at the rate of N40,000 each that put me into trouble.
“My regret is that I have a wife yet to be blessed with children. I did not save a kobo out of the money I realised from the dirty business. I had no house of my own. The whole devil’s money I got had gone back to the devil. Today I am arrested and I don’t know where this arrest will lead me,” he said.
