Unai Emery has rubbished talk of a training ground row with Mesut Ozil, with the Arsenal playmaker missing a win over West Ham due to illness.
It was revealed in the build-up to Saturday’s Premier League clash at Emirates Stadium that the German midfielder had been suffering with a bout of flu.
Ozil had missed three days of training as a result of feeling under the weather, with the decision taken not to involve him against the Hammers.
It was suggested that a heated exchange between Ozil and Emery at the Gunners’ London Colney base was responsible for the former being overlooked for weekend duty.
Emery, though, has been left bemused by the speculation, telling reporters after a 3-1 win for his side over capital rivals: ”It isn’t true.
“He was sick yesterday and we decided he shouldn’t play.
“He was sick and today he was here.
“I said today come if he feels better. And he feels better and he is here.”
