Nigeria Reports 2 Fatalities, 179 COVID-19 New Infections

The downward trend of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria continues, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 179 new infections on Tuesday, 16th March 2021.

This takes the total confirmed cases in the country to 161,074.

NCDC, in its daily update on Coronavirus, stated that 2 persons died of COVID-19 complications while 320 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country the same day.

A state-by-state breakdown of the fresh cases revealed the following: Lagos-47, Kaduna-21, Rivers-18, Akwa Ibom-14, FCT-11, Edo-10.

Others are; Cross River-9, Ogun-9, Nasarawa-6, Ebonyi-5, Ekiti-5, Zamfara-5, Delta-4, Kano-4, Osun-4, Plateau-3, Abia-2, Gombe-1 and Sokoto-1.

So far, the nation has recorded 2,018 fatalities and 146,072 recoveries.
