In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman, Dr Qasim Akinreti and the Secretary, Comrade Alfred Odifa, the union wished all its members, a Merry Christmas and prosperous 2020 in advance.

Addressing journalists at his temporary office in  Lagos, Akinreti gave all adorations to Almighty God and prayed that God should continue to preserve the lives of journalists to witness many more years in good health and abundant blessings.

The chairman charged Lagos journalists to use the birth  of Jesus Christ to embrace peace, which is the hallmark of the celebration.

According to him, the symbolism of Dec. 25, is sacrifice, love and dedication to a belief.

“Let’s reflect on these and chart a new way for a prosperous Union as we approach election in the year 2020.

“Our administration has demonstrated these traits in all its undertakings for Service  delivery,” Akinreti said.

The chairman also used the occasion to acknowledge the support and understanding of members throughout the year, and solicited for a continued cooperation.

Akinreti, on behalf of the executive members, once again, wished all journalists, a Merry Christmas and  pray to God to protect all during this period as they go about their duties.
