MNJTF Continue Clearance Operations In Sector 3
The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has once again affirmed its commitment to neutralizing the threat of terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin region, following a successful clearance operation conducted by troops of Sector 3 (5 Brigade) Nigeria on 25 February, 2024.
The MNJTF in a statement issued by the Chief of Military Public Information, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, confirmed that the operation was initiated in response to intelligence reports indicating the presence of Boko Haram terrorists in the vicinity of Alayi Bulanti, within the Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State, Northern part of Nigeria.
Deployed from their base in Damasak, the valiant troops undertook a fighting patrol that brought them into contact with the terrorist elements.
Upon contact, troops engaged the threat with superior firepower, effectively subduing the insurgents.
The decisive action of the troops resulted in the recovery of terrorist weaponry, including 2 x AK 47 rifles, 5 x magazines, and a total of 73 rounds of 7.62mm Special Ammunition.
The Force Commander, Maj Gen Ibrahim Sallau Ali congratulated the troops of Sector 3 and charged them to remain resolute towards total clearance of terrorist elements in their area operation.
He commended the local communities for continued support.
