WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram Suffer Worldwide Crash

The WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger platforms belonging to Facebook Inc. were down for at least an hour on Friday evening.

The outage was worldwide, but notably coincided with Father’s Day in Spain.

The problem was first detected around 18:30 CET and affected millions of users.

Conversations froze and messages were delayed, not received, or simply not sent.

Instagram also lost the ability to upload photos and update its feed, but the issue was resolved around 19:00 CET
