Security: Olokoba Commends Sanwo-Olu Over Intervention

National Convener of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), Comrade Razaq Olokoba has commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (BOS), over his usual intervention towards ensuring adequate security for the people of the state.

Olokoba’s commendation came at the wake of the governor’s donation of several utility vehicles to the state’s Police Command to ease their ways of operation in the country where security challenges are becoming worrisome, stating that, Sanwo-Olu’s thoughtfulness deserves kudos from all we-meaning people of the state and beyond.

“I say people of the state and beyond because it is a known fact that Lagos is home to people from all walks of life in Lagos, Nigeria and from across the world,” the youthful activists clarified, saying, “against that background, the governor deserves maximum support to succeed in his efforts at keeping us safe and comfortable.”

Recall that, the governor recently donated 150 vehicles, four high-capacity troop carriers, 30 patrol cars, and two anti-riot water cannon vehicles to the state’s Police Command as part of his efforts at strengthening security responses at every nook and cranny of the State in particular and the whole country at large.

The CDG boss said it was heart-warming seeing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari personally taking the inventory and commissioning the security equipment in full glare of the people including the Newly appointed Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba expressing the delight over the epoch-making occasion.

Olokoba further praises the governor for his administration’s initiative over partnership with private sectors and individuals towards moving the state forward, pointing out that, such partnership gave birth to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) – an autonomous agency that partners with the private sector and individuals to provide vital support to security agencies like the one under review.

The youth leader, therefore, agrees with President Buhari in his assertion that, the equipment would go a long way in boosting the morale of the police, and enhance their capacity to fight crime and all sort of criminalities in the country, giving kudos to Sanwo-Olu for walking his talk by executing his THEMES agenda to the letter.

He said the procurement of such security gargets would serve as a warning signal to evil-minded elements in the society, who might be toying with the idea of the #EndSARS of last year, lamenting that the destruction the state suffered during the ill-fated protest was enormous!

Concluding, Olokoba congratulated the State’s Police Command on its new catch, reasoning that, “apart from the fact that the gargets would boost their morale and giving them more confidence in their job, it would also give them assurance that Sanwo-Olu is a fatherly personality, who means well for his children.

The state’s police command, the governor said, suffered losses in infrastructure and logistics, while the morale of the personnel dropped as a result of the impact.
