Takumi Minamino netted a brace and Divock Origi scored one of his own as Liverpool booked their place the last 16 of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Norwich City.

The Belgian forward set up Minamino for Liverpool’s opener after a corner kick just four minutes into the match, as the Reds dominated from the outset.

Norwich missed a huge opportunity to equalise before the break when summer signing Christos Tzolis failed to beat Liverpool’s young goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher from the spot.

The Reds took to the pitch in the second half with the intention of finishing the game off and they managed to double their lead in the 50th minute, when Origi headed home following a precise cross from Konstantinos Tsimikas.

Second-half substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came off the bench to set up Minamino, who completed his brace to put the game to bed with 10 minutes to go.
