APC Primaries: Tinubu Warns Name Droppers, Says Don’t Use My Name As A Cover

Ahead of Saturday, May 29, 2021, All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for Councillorship and Chairmanship aspirants in Lagos State, the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has dissociated himself from endorsing or stopping anyone from contesting in the upcoming LGA elections, Worldtopnewsng reports.

Tinubu while addressing journalists after a closed-door meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila among other APC chieftains in the state at the State House Marina, Lagos on Sunday, says “everyone has a right to contest.”

The former governor also made it known in a video made available to Worldtopnewsng that he supports Consensus candidacy as far as the leaders in the local government area have endorsed it at the local level.

“I will like to say troublemakers, name shoppers should stay away.”

“Everyone has a right to contest as far as they are registered members of the party, APC and follow the party guidelines.”

The local governments elections in State scheduled for July 24th has been gaining momentum since Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) announced the election date.
