Napoli Regain Top Spot In Serie A With Comfortable Bologna Victory
Napoli continued their stunning start to the Serie A campaign as they regained top spot by cruising to a 3-0 victory over Bologna on Thursday evening.
Fabian Ruiz gave the hosts an early lead at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, before Lorenzo Insigne handed his side an unassailable lead with a penalty either side of half time.
The home side had the ball in the back of the net after 18 minutes, as the ball found its way to Fabian Ruiz on the edge of the box before the Spaniard unleashed an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net.
Napoli were awarded a penalty four minutes before half time, after Gary Medel was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box, before Insigne stepped up to fire home.
He repeated the trick on 62 minutes after Victor Osimhen was fouled in the box, as he stepped up to dispatch his spot-kick into the bottom left hand corner.
Napoli now have 28 points, the same amount as AC Milan at the top of Serie A, but they have a far superior goal difference of +19 compared to Milan’s goal difference of +14.
