Trumpcare Fails Yet Again
The US Senate held a late night session and just voted on the latest edition of the Trumpcare bill, also known as any bill at all to repeal the previous black President’s healthcare bill.
It failed by the narrowest of margins: 51-49. One more vote in favour, and it would have won (tie is broken by the Vice President, a Republican).
3 Republicans defected, leaving the party unable to muster together a majority for the one thing they have promised their faithful for the past 7 years.
Trumpcare has now been defeated many times in the US Congress, and it keeps coming back for another vote. We would be surprised if this was the final time we’ve seen it.
Earlier today, a bizarre scene played out in the Senate. A bill that the Republicans have promised for 7 years, was written up in a hurry over lunch, introduced at 10pm, and put to a vote at midnight with no debate allowed.
