Iheanacho Bags Hat-trick In Leicester Victory Over Relegation-bound Sheffield United

A difficult week for Sheffield United ended in disaster on Sunday as they suffered a 5-0 hammering against Leicester.

The Blades saw coach Chris Wilder leave the club on Saturday, and Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes were in unforgiving form as Paul Heckingbottom took charge for the first time with Kilechi Iheanacho bagging himself a hat-trick to send them on their way.

The win allows Leicester to climb into second, and Rodgers will no doubt be desperate to hold onto a top four spot having fallen away after last season’s enforced break to miss out on Champions League qualification.

Leicester had hit the post before Iheanacho opened the scoring with a simple tap-in from close range.

It wasn’t until after the hour mark that the Foxes got their second through Ayoze Perez, this time coming in the form of a fine finish from range.

But they didn’t stop there and Iheanacho scored twice more. First fishing off another Jamie Vardy assist for Leicester’s third, before he completed his hat-trick by smashing in a low, long-range strike.

Vardy looked to have got a goal for himself late on, but it was in fact an Ethan Ampadu own goal as the Welshman turned in from under his own crossbar.
