#InternationalWorkersDay: Former President Goodluck Jonathan Praises Labour Union
On Saturday, former President Goodluck Jonathan described workers as the major pillar for the development and survival of Nigeria.
He said the workers’ sacrifices had been the major reason for the country’s existence.
The former President, who stated this on his official Facebook page while marking the Workers’ Day, said, “I celebrate all Nigerian workers on this year’s #InternationalWorkersDay. You are a major pillar for the development and survival of our nation.
“Your commitments and sacrifices to the progress of our country have been a major reason why we have continued to exist as one nation and recorded many victories in times of global and national challenges. During this COVID-19 pandemic, many of you have been at the vanguard of protecting lives and giving hope to millions of people.
“No matter the challenges we face today as a country, I urge us to remain selfless in service, patriotic in action and focus on the cause of nation-building.”
