The Premier League’s so-called ‘Big Six’ have pulled out from the European Super League project, but they are reportedly planning to put together a new British Super League with Celtic and Rangers joining the project.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Manchester United had initially agreed to work with other elite clubs on the creation of a new European league, but withdrew from the project following reactions from fans, player, government and UEFA.

However according to The Sun, the Premier League’s Big Siz have already discussed the possibility of creating a new British Super League and inviting the two Glasgow giants to join them.

As the British newspaper has reported, Celtic and Rangers would be willing to be part of the project which could financially boost both clubs.

Football governing bodies give the green light

Meanwhile, both the English and Scottish FAs, along with the UK government, UEFA and FIFA have all endorsed the new format.

The inclusion of Celtic and Rangers would not be the only novelty that the new British Super League would bring, as the number of teams could be reduced to 18 and another idea is to introduce an end of season top four playoff.
