Protest: Macron Speech To France
President Macron has just completed an address the nation in the wake of weeks of riots in France
Highlights:
– Says protests stem from “40 years of malaise”
– Says he has “hurt some of you with my statements”
– Announces a small rise in France’s minimum wage and not to tax overtime work in 2019.
It appears that he has surrendered to many of the demands of the “Yellow Vest” protestors. It remains to be seen if they will be mollified.
