Edo North 2019: APC Leaders Distance Themselves Over Dekeri Allegations Against Oshiomhole-Alimikhena
Prominent leaders of Edo North has disassociate themselves from a Vanguard publication today in which one of the Edo North Senatorial aspirant Mr. Anamero Dekeri rumoured of attempt to smear the image of the APC national chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
They appealed to political leaders and aspirants to stop promoting conflicts in Edo North. ” We are stronger collectively and Edo North development is more Paramount than any individual parochial interest. All hands must be on deck to keep Edo North APC as one big entity for the interest of Unity and peace.
In a swift reaction to the allegation Personal Assistant to Senator Francis Alimikhena media and public affairs Benjamin Atu said Edo North leaders have distance themselves to the claims of the Dekeri campaign organizations.
He said 2019 election is a critical election in Edo North and we cannot trade away the personality that has the required general acceptability in the name of politics. Senator Francis Alimikhena has consistently been endorsed by various local government across Edo North during his project commissioning. Edo North market women, traders, farmers and artisans has constantly vowed to give him all the needed support to enable him complete his developmental strides. Senator Alimikhena does not represent his interest in the Senate but the collective voice of the people. “
“If he has failed the people, the people won’t asked him to continue to the red chamber in 2019. If a child does well in school the child is promoted to continue. Senator Alimikhena cannot be punish for performing rather he should be encouraged and Edo North has spoken in one voice for him to continue, it is wrong for Mr Anamero Dekeri and his campaign office to be dragging the esteem name of Senator Francis Alimikhena and the Edo North Leader Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to the mood.
Former APC State Deputy Chairman Alhaji Shagadi, Former Ambassador to Malaysia Ambassador peter Anegbe who is currently a Federal Commissioner Public Complain commission said” Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in his wisdom in dousing the political tension has arrived at a decision with Leaders of the area and it would be against the interest of leadership for any aspirants to show desperation and dragged the name of the APC national chairman to issues that has no relevance.
According to them, We must be circumspect in our speeches and avoid unguided utterances that could unwittingly incite the generality of the public and create hostility. Election is not a personality struggle but a challenge between political parties. He said APC leadership in Edo North has taken a collective decision and the 2019 election in Edo North is not about personality but about Edo North development.
“Senator Francis Alimikhena has kept faith with his developmental promises and it behooves on all Edo North sons and Daughters to support him to complete the developmental efforts he had already initiated. “Whatever we have not been able to achieve together as brothers, we cannot achieve it in division.” We are not concern about the personality our interest is Edo North and we must collectively come together to protect Edo North interest Ambassador Anegbe said.
