As officially announced by Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, Achraf Hakimi will don the Germans’ black and yellow shirt for the next two seasons.
The Moroccan is set to follow the example of Dani Carvajal, who moved to Bayer Leverkusen and Borja Mayoral, who joined Wolfsburg, and get experience before returning to Los Blancos.
Alvaro Odriozola’s arrival has left no room on the right flank for the 19-year-old, who played 17 games for Real last season, scoring a couple of goals.
“Achraf is a young and very dynamic defender, who has played at the highest level at Real Madrid and in the Moroccan national team,” said Borussia director Michael Zorc.
Napoli coach, Carlo Ancelotti, travelled to Madrid to convince Achraf to join the Italian club, but, as MARCA had reported, the player had already agreed terms with the German team.
