There have been reports in the last week that Cristiano Ronaldo could return to Real Madrid, and Zinedine Zidane has added fuel to the fire of those rumours.

The Real Madrid boss was asked about the 36-year-old potentially heading back to the Spanish capital and, rather than remain tight lipped on the matter, he was surprisingly open.

“It could happen. We know him and I’ve had the good fortune to coach him,” Zidane said during an interview with Sky Italia.

“He’s an impressive forward, we’ll see what happens in the future. He’s a Juventus player right now.”

Jorge Mendes has spoken with Real Madrid about the possibility of Cristiano returning, Josep Pedrerol revealed on El Chiringuito.

Cristiano is Real Madrid’s all-time record goalscorer, having netted 450 goals in 438 games. He also provided 132 assists in that time.
