#OsunDecides2018: Osun Deputy Governor, Deputy Speaker Accuse PDP Of Buying Vote With N4,000

As the Osun governorship election continues, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Iyaafin Titilayo Laoye-Tomori and the State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon. Akintunde Adegboye have alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party has corrupt the process with vote buying.

 

Speaking shortly after casting her vote at Owode ward 6 unit 2, Iyaafin Laoye-Tomori alleged the security agents of being accomplice in the act.

 

She said she has been monitoring the process from her family house and she had witnessed several incidences of vote buying piloted by the PDP party agents.

 

She said, “After casting my vote, I have been here monitoring the situation and the PDP has deviced another method to outwit the arrangement put in place to curb the menace.

 

“Even the security agents are accomplice in this dastardly act. They (security agents) are the ones leading voters to corners to settle them after casting votes”, she said.

 

In the same vein, the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Adeboye also pointed accusing finger of vote buying to the PDP.

 

He said information reached him that the PDP was buying votes at Ward 12 unit 1 but they (PDP) halted it when they saw him.

 

“I voted at at ward 12 Unit 8 and I was told that the PDP has the PDP agents are buying votes here at ward 12 unit 1 but when I got there, they ran away because they know me.

 

“But no matter what they do, APC will win this election. We have shown people what governance is all about and we believe they will choose the best which is our party”, he said.

 

On getting to the alleged ward (ward 12 unit 1), the party agents of APC, ADP and SDP jointly denied vote buying while the PDP agents was not on ground to answer questions from the media.

 

Also, the electorates who have voted and those waiting to be attended to denied the vote buying. They said the security agents and INEC staff are doing their best and everything has been peaceful.
