#NigeriaDecides2019: INEC Announces Northeast States Election Results

Adamawa State poll has declared inconclusive. INEC said the number of cancellations was higher than the margin of lead votes between the two contestants and therefore, a new date for the rerun election would be fixed.

 

Bauchi State the poll was also declared inconclusive. The REC said the margin of lead between the PDP and APC Candidates is 4,059 votes.

 

Secondly, the number of cancelled votes even without that of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area which he had earlier cancelled was 45, 312. Thirdly, the total number of registered voters in the affected areas are 139, 240.

 

In Borno State, Babagana Zulum, the candidate of the APC, is leading. Zulum has won 24 of the 27 local government areas.

 

PDP has lost the governorship seat to the APC in Gombe State. Inuwa Yahaya polled a total of 364,179 votes to beat the Bayero Nafada who scored 222, 868 votes.

 

In Taraba State, official announcement was abruptly called off by the Returning Officer for the state, Iya Shehu, after results from only two of the state’s 16 local governments had been announced. He said they will reconvene by noon on Monday.

 

In Yobe State, APC’s Mai Mala Buni has been declared as the winner. The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Abubakar Musa Kundiri said Mai Mala Buni scored 444, 013 beating his PDP opponent Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum of PDP who polled 95, 703 votes.
