Three Red Cards And A Late Winner For Granada Against Valencia

Spread the love

Granada edged Valencia 2-1 in a feisty affair at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes which saw both teams have at least one player sent off.

Kevin Gameiro and Kenedy exchanged goals for the visitors and hosts respectively to set the match up nicely for the closing stages on Wednesday evening.

Valencia were reduced to 10 men in the 70th minute when Jason received a second yellow card for a foul on Domingos Duarte.

Just three minutes later, Goncalo Guedes saw a straight red card and, just three minutes after that, Duarte also followed him down the tunnel.

In the end, it was the team with 10 men who prevailed, with substitute Jorge Molina guiding a header past Jaume Domenech two minutes from time.

The defeat leaves Valencia in 16th place in LaLiga Santander and outside the relegation zone on goal difference alone.

Granada, meanwhile, sit in seventh place in the table, just a point behind Barcelona in the definite European places.
