Tammy Abraham Score Hat-trick As Chelsea Knock Out Luton Town In FA Cup

A Tammy Abraham hat-trick papered over the cracks for Chelsea as Frank Lampard’s side overcame Luton Town to reach the last 16 of the FA Cup.

Lampard rang the changes and the team made of a mix of regulars and fringe players ultimately got the job done, despite Timo Werner missing a penalty.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, on his return to the team, didn’t impress for the Luton goal and should have got a stronger hand onto the weak shot which made the score 2-1 with half an hour played.

The former Athletic Club goalkeeper redeemed himself somewhat in the second half, pulling off a big save to keep Chelsea ahead before Abraham sealed the win.

Callum Hudson-Odoi worked a wonderful one-two with Billy Gilmour before sliding it across to Abraham for a tap in to complete his hat trick.

Werner’s missed penalty in the 86th minute was inconsequential for the result, but won’t have done the German’s confidence any favours as he now has scored just once in 16 games.

Chelsea progress to the next round, but Lampard will surely feel it could have been an easier day at the office.
