Numerous former footballers struggle to manage their wealth accumulated during their playing days after they hang up their boots, and Adriano is certainly one of those.

The former Inter and Brazil striker has decided to sell his house and move to a luxury hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

Adriano, who was best remembered for his time at Inter, but also played for Flamengo, Corinthians and Roma at club level, is now staying at the Grand Hyatt where he is spending about 12,000 euros per month until he finds a home that meets his standards.

The Emperor, as he was nicknamed, is living in the Grand Hyatt’s presidential suite, a 145-square-metre room with a balcony overlooking the ocean.

According to Ole, Adriano sold his mansion for 1.3 million euros, but has not yet found his ideal home, so in the meantime will remain in the luxury hotel.

He is said to have only taken the trophies that he won throughout his career to his suite, in addition to other personal items.
