Julen Lopetegui and Diego Simeone will have their first choice starting lineups ready for the European Super Cup where the first trophy of the season is up for grabs on August 15th.
For Real Madrid though it means that Raphael Varane, Luka Modric and Kovacevic will have had little time to prepare having returned later following their involvement in the World Cup final.
Modric has said that he is ready to return early, a week before the game, and that is a boost for the new Madrid coach.
The possible starting lineup for Real is: Keylor Navas, Carvajal, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo, Casemiro, Luka Modric, Kroos, Isco, Bale and Benzema.
Some of the players like Bale and Benzema will have almost a month of training under their belts, while others including Ramos, Isco and Carvajal will have been preparing for over two weeks.
It is a similar situation for Simeone with Lucas Hernandez and Antoine Griezmann returning days before the match.
Simeone’s lineup could well be: Oblak, Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Filipe, Rodrigo, Saúl, Koke, Vitolo, Griezmann and Diego Costa.
